Don't mix up small & large element switches. Very easy to replace. Two screws. Five wires per switch, but my Tappan mounts them on two plastic connectors that only go on one way. Hard to screw up. After unplugging the stove I removed about 6 screws on the back top of the oven to take the panel off. I pulled off the knob of the old burner switch and then removed the two Philips screws that hold the switch to the stove. Then I disconnected the top and bottom wires and connected them to the new switch. I screwed the new switch to the stove then put back cover on. I ordered new power switches that control the stove burners, to replace the burned out older ones. The fix took about twenty minutes total, including the time it took to move the stove.
