How to Troubleshoot & Replace Ge AP3995088 / WE1M654 Timer Knob Assembly

I ordered a new timer and accompanying knob, followed the directions of your how to repair video, which was amazingly simple, and walah fixed it. Your site is very easy to use. I just plugged in the model number of my dryer and received dryer schematics. I selected the area of the dryer I was having problems with and was able to select the timer and knob. I even tried selecting a different knob and your site warned that it would not fit my model dryer. That was reassuring. This has been an incredible experience from start to finished. Most impressively was the turnaround time to receive parts. I placed an order around 5:00 p.m. on Thursday and received the part by 4:00 p.m. the next day without paying extra for expedited shipping! You all are the best! 

Ordered a new knob 

I went to the Appliance Pros web site, i then searched for the information on how to remove and install the parts. It seemed quite simple so i ordered the parts. Parts were ordered on a friday morning and were received at my front door at eight oclock saturday morning. Exact same parts i ordered. My appliance was a Ge electric dryer. I removed the three screws from the rear of the control panel, and slid it side ways allowing it to be tilted forward, thus exposing all electrical parts i needed to replace. With the power off i switched the wires over to the new parts one at a time as not to get them mixed up. Then reinstalled the panel and replaced the knobs. Plugged it in and it worked great.

Replaced the timer and the knob also because it was cracked. I am a 74 year old woman and I watched the video on how to remove the old one and put on the new one it was very easy, did it all by myself

By just replacing it 

I replaced the old belt and timer knob. I wired the L1 wire to the on/off switch. Everything works very well.
