How to Troubleshoot & Replace Ge AP3995088 / WE1M654 Timer Knob Assembly

Went to your site, looked up the model number of dryer. Easily ordered parts. Parts arrived quickly. Installed parts. Detailed Instructions and how-to-video available. Easy! Easy! Easy! 

Purchased a new knob. 

Purchased the replacement timer knob by AppliancePartsPros.com. 

This was a particularly easy repair six screws to open the back Twist out for the switch connect the five wires. 

Ordered a replaced Timer Knob Assembly. 

Purchased and replaced with a new Timer Knob Assembly. 

I got the new one and it was really simple to put it on! It's working. 

Replaced both. Unplugged from the outlet. Removed 3 screws from the back panel. Removed the timer. Replaced 1 wire at a time. Installed timer. Put screws in the back panel. Put the knob on the timer. Plugged back into the outlet, turned on. Worked great. Saved about $300 doing it myself. Done in under 15 minutes. 

Truth be told many years ago the same problem happened. Took the panel apart and replace with a new timer motor, only to find out the shaft of the knob was cracked to allow the metal collar to have play in it ! Happen again years later..knew what it was..ordered the part...came the following day !!!!!! exact replacement..... 

Installed new handle.
