Super helpful video for this job. Overall a straightforward repair with a couple of challenging steps:
1) Releasing the belt from the idler/drive assembly (and replacing it during reassembly), is a deep stretch under the drum with a fully extended arm. It's also done by feel and not direct visualization due to close quarters.
2) In my 2006 model, there was very limited space around the upper rim of the assembly housing (less than in the video), so that not even a short screwdriver could access the screws on the thermostats and thermal fuse. My workaround was to remove the assembly while supporting it to access the screws for removal, then replace them on the new element prior to reattaching to the rear wall. An alternative would be to use a 90-degree screwdriver , but I didn't have one.
