How to Troubleshoot & Replace Ge AP2619954 / WE11M23 Heating Element Assembly

Was going to buy a new washer and dryer since we’ve had both units for many years. The washer is okay. But, we were thinking on having new matching units would be nice. I’m old-school. Why buy new; when you can repair what’s old and still serviceable. So, I ordered a new heating element and replaced the old one. The dryer works like a champ! The replacement was pretty simple. The video online gave excellent step-by-step instructions. Easy to follow, and easy to perform. Just a word to the wise. As you take the dryer apart, take the time to clean (vacuum) all the old lint and dust that’ve crept into those areas of the dryer you’ve not exposed ‘til now. I probably spent twice as much time making sure every nook and cranny I could reach was clean than I spent on replacing the element itself. All total, a 20-minute or so job, took me a bit over an hour. To me, it was worth it. Now I have a dryer that works like new for a fraction of what I was planning on spending to replace both units.

Watched the video on your site. Very helpful. Replaced dryer heating element. Took longer to clean the inside than it did to replace part. 

My husband was out of town, so after three days without a dryer, I used the videos from AppliancePartsPros.com and replaced all the parts myself. Watched several of your videos before ordering parts. Parts arrived in 2or 3 days. Reviewed the videos before starting. Found the 15 year old belt had broken. Replaced heater, belt, glides & light bulb. Dryer works great now. Excellent videos, great replacement parts, reasonable prices & super fast parts delivery. 

Ordered replacement heating element. Let my wife be the lead tech on this job. We both watched the movie before starting ( very helpful). She did a good job. First time in her life she worked on an appliance. It works great now. Thanks 

Purchased a new heat element from AppliancePartsPros.com. It took me and my son-in-law to replace with the help of the video that was supplied by Appliance Parts Pros.com. It can be done by a single person, but I am seventy-nine years old and would not have the patience to do it alone. This did fix the problem and was glad for the part being available and especially for the video, so I did not have to go and search for it. 

Observed that heating element had shorted out. Ordered an element by phone from AppliancePartsPros. Got it in one day. Installed that puppy. Replaced breaker fuses and Voila! Up and running. Thanks. Got recommended to your site by a friend who really knows what’s going on. The dryer now heats like the Gobi Desert. 

Replaced the heating element assembly and checked the thermal fuses and voltage with a multi meter. The video was very helpful! 

Replaced the heating element and now it is drying again.
