How to Troubleshoot & Replace Ge AP3873795 / WB24T10119 Range Infinite Control Switch

I called a local appliance repair to take a look at my GE profile cook top stove when the large element quit working.A few days later THE MASTER MECHANIC showed up to my house and within the first 3 minutes the repairman was here, he turns the knob on and off and says " Here's your problem the large element has gone out. That will be $69.00 or if you want it fixed it will be $305.00 including parts". What a TOOL! Needless to say just because the tile of the business is ALL PRO APPLIANCE, doesn't mean your getting an ALL PRO to fix your Stove. So I got on you tube to see how to fix the problem, did some research and found you guys. I ordered a large element for $120 bucks and it was delivered to my house within a few days. GUESS WHAT??? Still didn't work..... WTH!! I called Appliance parts pros.com back and the girl that I spoke with was aces, I believe her name was Erica B. I explained the problem to her and we determined it was the Infinite Control Switch ($29.00). So she shipped it to my house in a few more days. After just minutes I replaced the switched and it worked fine and they took back the element. My recommendations to Appliance parts pros.com Thanks Guys I will make sure to call you first next time! Replaced the Infinite Control Switch 

Switches needed to be replaced. Make note of where each screw comes from. They were not all the same. To remove the front panel and get to the switches, you have to partially remove the cook top. Removed 5 screws from the back to release the cooktop. Slid the cooktop back far enough to expose screws holding on the front panel. Removed 4 screws from the top and 6-8 from the bottom (opened the oven door to get to the bottom screws). Removed screws from the front panel holding the switch in place. Took a picture of the wire orientation on the existing switch. Removed the wires from the old switch, attached to the new switch and put everything back together. Some of the wires were a little difficult to remove from the old switch. Some seem to snap off easily, others took a little effort. Repair was not very difficult if you keep track of where everything came from. To me about 30 minutes of actual work. Another 30 minutes or so cleaning the years of grease buildup before putting it back together. 

Replaced element control switch, dual element switch, indicator light and plastic knob for dual-element switch. 

Replaced element with new one from you 

Replace switch, since I noticed some black color in old switch, I also replace the indication light. 

One screw at a time. Anissa, your representative over the phone, was wonderful with me. Taking her time. Helping me to correctly identify the part I needed. Again she awesome and efficient. 

Replaced infinite control switch 

Ordered new control switches to replace. Wiring diagram was easy to follow, However existing wiring was tight to reach the post locations on new control..
