How to Troubleshoot & Replace Ge AP4375076 / WD21X10370 Dishwasher Control Module Assembly (Main Control Board)

I stumbled on AppliancePartsPros by looking around the net to see if I could find out what to do about the unit. After joining the blog, the moderator Jake diagnosed what could be the likeliest problem, made a recommendation, and I ordered the control unit. The repair went easy except for two plastic door retainers and I sliced a finger trying to get those retainers in line. I was so pleased to have found APPros and would recommend them without any hesitation! Thanks again... 

Replace the control module. Very easy to do, remove the inner door panel, remove the five or six cables connected to the existing unit, and pull the existing out of the door (it isn't screwed in, just pull forward and slide the tabs on the side out of their slots on the door). Installation is just the reverse. Total time was maybe 20 minutes, depending on how stuck your door screws are. 

The module control Assembly fixed the problem. Dishwasher now runs normally. First remove screws that hold the inner and outer door together. I took a photo of the old part before disconnecting cables. Removing the old module took me awhile because I had trouble locating the screw on the side of the door (because I closed the door for easy removal of the cables). I reconnected everything, put the door back together, closed and latched it and when I turned the power back on it went through it's calibration. I would recommend this if you are having issues with the dishwasher not starting or stopping during the cycle. 

Called your chat service and the lady was able to analyze the problem. She suggested that we replace the Module Control Assembly, which we did. Lo and behold, our washer was up and running like new. Thank you for the great service. 

Replaced the control module after reading on this site and others. 

I ordered the Module Control ASM and that fixed the issue. 

Had I known I could have fixed my dishwasher so easily a year ago, when symptoms started, I would have done so immediately. First, my dishwasher stopped opening the soap pod dispenser. Figured it was mechanical and didn't even consider it being a bigger issue. Just switched to tossing the pod in manually. Then, it started to take a couple of tries to get the unit to move from the initial water fill to the next part of the cycle. This worked for many months until it just wouldn't budge no matter the number of tries. After reading similar stories, I decided it sure sounded like the control module was bad on my 15-year-old dishwasher. With supply chain issues, I was worried it would take a year to get another dishwasher so was so happy to see this part available. Replacing the module was a breeze and it fixed all the problems! Getting the door back together took more time than replacing the module. At least for my unit, the door screws needed to be installed from bottom to top for that step to go smoothly. 

I ordered a new door switch. Installation was not hard and it works perfect now. 

I looked at the instructions on line. I read other people's comments which was very helpful. If I hadn't done that, I would have been confused in some parts of instillation. The most challenging part was putting the 2 screws in the white plastic parts that were by the door latch at the top of the dishwasher. The other tricky part was taking the ribbon off the part. I needed pliers. After installing it , the dishwasher worked perfectly! 

With the info help from the Appliance Parts Pro Chat I was able to decide that it was probably the Module Control Assembly. I ordered that from APP along with the Display Module because my display numbers were not showing the full digits, I ordered that as well. The 2 parts combined were the same price as the GE site & they were Genuine GE parts. The order went out the same day & I received them 2 days later with only standard shipping. Removal and replacement of the 2 parts was straightforward. 12 minutes from start to finish. I have used APP in the past for my trash compactor & will definitely use them again. Thank you very much!
