Richard M Lee's Summit , MO March 03, 2017 Cracked door frame on a ge spacemaker microwave Pretty easy. Found an online schematic and video. I was able to disassemble the door and replace the part in about 10 minutes. The entire project took about 30 minutes though, I thoroughly cleaned the other parts of the door - older microwave, pretty greasy in some parts. The best part of this project was the speed in which the part was delivered. The microwave door cracked one day, I ordered the part on my phone as I stood in the kitchen, and then my part was delivered the NEXT DAY. And I didn't request next day shipping! Don't know if the folks at Appliance Parts Pros have a warehouse in the Midwest or what (I live in KC). Alli know is that my microwave broke and I had it fixed within 24 hours. I'll definitely use them again for any DIY appliance repairs in the future. Thanks guys! Cindy S Post Falls , ID November 10, 2023 Appliance: General Electric Free Standing Microwave JVM1630WJ01 The door panel to our microwave was cracked and the glass was falling out We unscrewed the screw on top of the vent and took the vent off. Next we lifted the door off at the pin hinges. We should have taken pictures of disassembly. The black inner door plate was taken off next with a screwdriver being careful not to crack it. I think this gave us access to the door handle screws and we removed them. The old outer door panel was pried off being careful not to drop the glass. We laid the glass on the place it was before making sure it was far to the left-using a screwdriver through the hole and pulling down. It was difficult to get the glass under the plastic clips in the frame. The glass had to be far enough down from the hole to allow the door handle to fit in it. We got confused about the holes in the front panel thinking the door catch didn't fit into them but realized that was where the handle went. If we could replace the front panel anyone could. It looks and works great now. Read More... Do-It-Yourself Rating: Repair Time Estimate: 30-60 minutes Tools: Screwdrivers
