How to Troubleshoot & Replace Ge AP3187983 / WB23T10015 Temperature Sensor

The oven was basically not useable. After determining that the sensor arm was defective, I ordered the replacement from Appliance Parts Pros. Ordering was easy - entered the model and serial number into the web site, and there were assembly drawings with part numbers. This is quite impressive and made ordering the correct part very easy. Most important, the part was in stock. It was shipped the same day and arrived the next day. The video detailing how to install the sensor arm was quite explicit. Once the part was received, it took me 10 minutes to install and test. Great service and most of all the prices for the assembly as well as shipping were extremely reasonable. 

Smoothly. Took a chance whether the problem was the temperature sensor versus the control board. Fortunately, it was the sensor and problem solved; cost approximately $20 versus $400+ to replace control board. 

Since I have used appliance pros in the past, I just noted the model number on the name plate and then looked at the exploded diagrams and the video on the temp sensor and made the decision to replace it since all the other discrete components were not related to the temp setting being off. The part was here in two days, the video showed how to install it and the rest is history. 

Replaced the Sensor Arm. A simple fix yet you need to go and find a video showing how to remove it if yours is a built in oven versus a free standing range that is the how to video on this site. 

Installed new convex heat element and temp sensor. Easy fix (with help of how to videos) took about one hour and a half. 

Swap out the thermal sensor with this part. Tip: you may need to unscrew the heating element to get the thermal wire plastic harness without forcing it. Don’t do what I did, force it, and have the cable fall back behind the oven (I have a built-in). Take your time 

I replaced the sensor and oven control panel based on information I got on the Internet. The parts arrived on the second day and the service as usual was excellent. 

Looked up error code and how to fix it on youtube. Ordered part in am and got it by noon next day. Very fast delivery!!! took 10 minutes to fix. Oven works better than ever now. Thanks to youtube and appiancepartspro!!!! 

Replaced all the components listed above. It operates and looks almost like a new oven. I am very happy with the overall results...however, I only ordered 2 racks and now have to get an additional one. 

Replaced controller board. Preferred correct part. Used part number. Also confirmed using the high-res pictures on the site. Perfect match. Much cheaper than a NEW OVEN. Quicker, too. Repair took less than 1 hour.
