How to Troubleshoot & Replace Ge AP3995164 / WE1M652 Timer Knob

Got a new dryer dial. 

I thought I'd have to buy a new dryer. The condo came with an ancient Admiral, so I figured I was out of luck. I checked with AppliancePartsPros Online, and by God I found one for 17 bucks and tax. The big surprise was, it arrived the next day!! I was able to fix our dryer, without springing for a new one. Thanks, Appliance Parts Pros!! Stephen S. 

It took me a total of 15 minutes to replace both. I started at the back, removing 3 screws from there, I was able to access the timer and replaced it by following the connections. But what is remarkable is how fast Appliance Parts Pros were able to deliver the parts. I was promised around 8 days but it was outside my door in 2 days. Truly amazing. Thank you Appliance Parts Pros, the best. 

Check of knob indicated several areas where the plastic had dried and cracked, becoming too loose to allow the knob to turn the timer. Purchased a new knob from AppliancePartsPros.com and received the new knob within several days. I was pleasantly surprised to find the new one to be the exact copy of the old (without the cracks of course), Within minutes, I had removed the old knob and replaced it with the new one and had the dryer working at full capacity again.

I just replaced the knob. I really needed it because I had been forced to use pliers to turn it on. 

I looked online for an appliance repair business that sold parts for my dryer. I found Appliance parts pros and decided to call them. I initially tried the Hot Point site and they had the same part for an unreal price of $43.00. I talked to the man at Appliance parts pros and he told me to try the one he had by model number. I ordered it and it came the next day. It fits and my problem was solved. Thanks for taking the time to explain what was happening and getting me the right part for the right price. Joe
