How to Troubleshoot & Replace Ge AP5805478 / WE04X20416 Dryer Timer

Replaced it with a new one. 

Did some investigation to determine what the problem to my issue would be, watch videos on AppliancePartsPros.com, and purchased the correct part. Had my HANDYMAN help me when I wasn't sure. He's a helpful handyman (Teacher) 

We're not very good at repairing things ourselves, but we were pretty sure that the timer was the problem. We watched the video (before we bought the part) and it seemed like something we could do. We reviewed that video, then replaced the part.

Appliance Parts Pros made it simple. I put in the GE model number from inside the door of the dryer into their web site. A diagram of all the parts came up. I found the timer switch. I watched the short 5-minute video on how to open up the back and install it. Ordered it and it came the next morning! Followed the video without a hitch and the dryer was up and running in less than 30 minutes. The video was generic on how to install any such timer and showed a slightly different dryer (unlike my experience the previous month with Appliance Parts Pros where the repair of my dryer door hinge showed the exact model which made it a breeze) but modifying it for my dryer was quite straightforward. These guys are great. I would have waited weeks for a repair person and paid them much more when you include the service visit charge. Appliance Parts Pros is a lifesaver. I’ll definitely use them the next time an appliance in my house breaks, as I now already have successfully twice!
