How to Troubleshoot & Replace Ge AP6031056 / WE04X24550 Dryer Timer

Watched video. Ordered and replaced timer, very carefully. You need a tiny star pattern screwdriver to remove screw holding timer to dryer panel. Maybe torx, I got lucky that I had one, check video for exact one needed. Took multiple photos for wires placement. Moved wires across and reinstalled timer. Reassembled dryer. Dryer fixed.

Replaced timer 

New timer knob 

I got lucky and the knob has enough grip on the stem that it now works. However, I am sure that at some point I will have to replace the timer, so I have the part ready to go. 

Replaced with a new one 

Replacing the timer and knob was easy with some nut drivers and a star L bit. 

Replaced the timer 

Removed back of backsplash to expose the timer. Simple installation 

Checked appliance pros diagrams for proper parts . Ordered parts, received parts quickly. Installed new timmer and knob. Works perfectly.
