How to Troubleshoot & Replace Ge AP5632405 / WE4M527 Dryer Timer Control

I got AppliancePartsPros on the net and chatted a bit about the model number and part number. I received the part the next day from fed ex, installed it in about 30 minutes or a little longer, I was not in a hurry, They sent the right part, and the dryer was fixed within 24 hrs of talking to them on the net. I was impressed? 

This is my second go around either the timer module. The timer still works it’s just that the timer stem wore out over time. Appliance Parts Pros came through every time with the specific part for my dryer. Thank you guys! 

Replaced timer. 

I was nervous about doing the repair on my own! I don't normally tackle projects like this! All the wires made me a little nervous! But I just watched the video on how to do it and it was done in little over 15 minutes. The part that took the longest was disconnecting the wires! Just remember to take a picture of how the wires are connected before disconnecting! 

Looked on line found appliancepartspros. Typed in machine model number. Looked up the timer. Then checked for compatibility found match. Ordered part. Was delivered in two days. 10 mins to change out. Working great now. Thanks. 

Replaced timer and still did not work properly. I noticed that the plastic knob had cracked where it attaches to the timer. Replaced the knob and it now works fine. With the knob being cracked it was selecting a random cycle or none at all. 

Ordered new timer from Appliance Parts Pros. Followed replacement video of timer. All went well and within 20 minutes the timer and knob were replaced. Timer and knob that I bought from Appliance Parts Pros look and operate like factory parts and I am very satisfied.
