How to Troubleshoot & Replace Ge AP5632405 / WE4M527 Dryer Timer Control

Ordered the part on internet, watched repair video and did it. 

Ordered part and replaced it. Now it works great 

ORDERED NEW TIMER INSTALLED WITH NEW KNOB 

Remove and replace with new timer 

Replaced timer after I had talked to my wife. She said that the timer dial would only spin and would not engage at all. So I ordered the timer and it only took 10 to 15 minutes to replace it. 

Old control broke several knobs (I borrowed from the other features) because it kept getting stiffer to turn. Used a vice grip on knob stub for quite some time and ultimately that broke off, rendering the dryer inoperable. Replacement working fine. I would have had more praise, but I waited too long to order the part. My dryer model number tag had fallen off, so I guessed on the part and guessed wrong, the first time. Now that I had the unit open, I googled the actual part number and that worked better for me. This site had better price than Amazon and much better pictures, so I knew that I was getting the right part. I was only out postage for returning the first part. I assume I’ve been credited. 

Replaced Timer. 

1.unplug dryer. remove 3 screws to release cover from back plate slide to right to tilt forward exposing with. 2. made diagram of wiring contact points 3. remove star head screw holding switch, twist counterclockwise to release and remove wiring 4. replace switch by inserting and twisting clockwise, replace star head screw 5.return wiring via diagram Replace cover and screws, plugin ,test. About 20 min 

Ordered new part. Arrived fast . Watched how to install video . Fixed dryer . All good experience. 

I removed the back panel of the dryer instrument panel and replaced the broken timer with a new one.
