How to Troubleshoot & Replace Ge AP5632405 / WE4M527 Dryer Timer Control

Replaced it 

We watched the video on how to install the part. (Very helpful!) We had to unscrew the top panel of the dryer. Remove the wires from the old part and place the wires in the same place on the new part. Very easy fix! 

Replaced the timer ordered from this website. Part arrived in 2 days. Took less than 10 minutes to replace the timer. 

I ordered a new timer from AppliancePartsPros.com. 

I changed the timer & knob 

Unplugged the unit, removed the back cover plate, popped the old unit out leaving the wires attached, inserted the new timer, swapped the wires one at a time to insure correct connections. Replaced back cover and slid the new knob into place. Plugged the drier in and everything worked perfectly. 

I'm so excited that I got to do this all by myself. I had to remove the back cover from the dryer, remove the old timer and replace it with the new one. The knob had broken and I had been using pliers to operate the dryer. I thought I could do that until I got a new knob. Bad idea! This damaged the timer causing me to have to get a new one. The repair was simple and very easy thanks to the appliance part pros YouTube video! 

I watched a u tube video, saw that it was a simple 10 min fix. Ordered the parts, they arrived the next day and completed the installation. If your contacts are hard to remove from the old switch us a small flat head Screw driver to gently pry.
