How to Troubleshoot & Replace Ge AP5780508 / WE4M533 Dryer Timer Control Assembly

I replaced the timer. 

You confirmed my solution. I ordered the required timer. It arrived a day sooner than expected. In the video, the repair was perfect except for dragging the machine out to get to the back for screw removal. Some may have a problem with that, I did not. 

Easy peasy. New switch and dial fit perfectly. I had replaced it before with a knockoff and it only lasted 3 months. Great quality and exact fit. Took 10 minutes. Always unplug the dryer to perform any repairs. Also this was stated on packaging. Top notch company. 

I bought a new one and installed it. Followed the directions on the video. Easy peasy! 

After looking on this web site others had the same problem. First time I fixed my problem on a dryer.

I actually YouTubed the problem, read a couple of articles and then discovered a WONDERFUL "how to" video on AppliancePartsPros.com. After calling a few repair companies and getting their diagnostic quotes, I decided to try and fix it myself. I ordered the part from Appliance Parts Pros, called another handy friend for moral support, and fixed my dryer within 10 minutes. Saved a lot of money and it felt great to be able to do it myself!
