Robert L Denver , CO February 15, 2018 Shaft and bearing. OK kids, pay attention! This was my second attempt @ this repair. My first repair started leaking right away and had to be re-done about 6 months later. HERE IS THE PROBLEM!. In the video, you'll notice that (while putting it back together) when you put the square hole washer and split-ring over the shaft, they look to land atop the rubber seal, buy when you do this in real life, there is a gap between the seal and the washer. (This gap was close to a 1/4 inch). I THINK that the first time I was just doing what I saw on the video and not really THINKING about what I was doing and if there was a gap then, may have just left it as such and therefore allowed the SEAL TO MOVE. Thus, the leak. THIS TIME, I payed attention to THE JOB, and realized this gap would not allow the seal to be secure (as the washer and ring are designed to do). MY REMEDY was to put some galvanized washers over the seal to allow the square-holed washer to apply slight pressure as I think it should. WELL, So far there is no leaking this time and I hope that was the reason, the solution , and that this will be helpful. Another helpful (time-saving) tip. Use a socket the size of the bearing for removal. Set the socket on the bearing and use a good size hammer, KABAM!, it's out. Good Luck! Read More... John S Greenville , SC June 13, 2017 Appliance: Model GE WASHER - PROFILE MODEL Loud clunk during the wash/agitate cycle mode shifter faulty Had to replace the mode shifter & shaft assembly. A great "How to" video made the repair fairly easy. I decided to change out the bearing, washer, belt and hub nut while I had the entire washer torn down. The only issue.....chances are you won't get the hub nut to release no matter how much penetrating oil and how hard you beat on the wrench so order a new hub nut and use a chisel and cut the nut off. Thanks for the video, price and delivery in 2 days !!! Read More... Do-It-Yourself Rating: Repair Time Estimate: 2+ hours Tools: Nut Drivers, Pliers, Wrench Set

Katherine D Madison , WI December 24, 2016 Leaking ge washer Replaced the tub seal and the tub bearing washer. During disassembly, the badly corroded split ring bearing was broken, so that was replaced at the last minute. Here is where Appliance Pros really came through. I was expecting at least two days (hoping for two) shipping, but the split ring arrived the next day! Awesome! I recommend that you order the split ring up front if you are replacing the seal. It seems pretty fragile and will likely be corroded in place. An additional tool, the tub nut wrench is pretty much required to make this repair. I don't know how one would do without. Find the cheapest one available since you will likely need it just this one time. Also, be sure to watch the Appliance Pro videos on how to dissasemble the machine and make the repairs. Read More...
