Joe M Satellite Beach , FL November 21, 2016 Appliance: General Electric Washer GTWN3000M1WS Very loud spin cycle Ordered Mode Shifter and associated drive train parts which I recommend to anyone undertaking this repair. As others have noted that performed this repair, the most difficult part of the repair was removing the hub nut, It took a lot of release compound and a lot of hammering to get it to free up. Overall not a difficult repair at all. Be sure to replace the seal in the outer tub since thats what causes the bearing in the Mode Shifter to fail. Read More... Denise K Humble , TX June 08, 2016 Appliance: General Electric Washer WBB2090F1WW Washer was not spinning in spin cycle and was leaking water and oil below at the t&b assembly I replaced the transmission and brake assembly, tub bearing washer (which was gone) and now the washer works like a charm! Nice and quiet I hardly notice it's running. I followed the video from start to finish which without I would not have attempted this repair. Of course anyone who has made a repair of this type knows the parts don't always remove as easy as shown in the video but with WD-40 and some persistence I managed the repair. In place of the expensive spanner wrench I used a 10 inch pipe wrench to remove the hub nut. Read More... Do-It-Yourself Rating: Repair Time Estimate: 2+ hours Tools: Adjustable Wrench, Socket Set

Richard L Thorn Hill , TN May 30, 2016 Appliance: General Electric Washer WJRR4170E6WW Washer was leaking water from seal on the bottom of tub After looking at where the washer was water from seal on the bottom of tub. had to take the whole washer apart to get to the part that failed. After ordering some parts from other supplier found out I needed even more parts. The spanner wrench is a very necessary item you need to get the hub nut off. Mine was corroded so had to come off in pieces, being very careful not to damage threads on shaft. The split ring was also corroded so it came off in two pieces. After cleaning everything and a little work with some emery cloth on the shaft started putting it back together. It was a lot easier going back together than coming apart. So at last got washing machine back together and she works fine now. Read More... Yiliber Q Pembroke Pines , FL January 25, 2016 Mode shifter and seal were bad I really have to thank appliance pros for the video , it was a great help, i would suggest anyone who wants to do this ; to take the unit apart before ordering the parts,i had ordered just the bearing tub, but then i realized the shift assembly and seal were really the broken parts, not only that but also i broke the bearing split ring in and messed up the hub nut with the channel locks in the process . The procedure to fix the washer was at the beginning very hard since i didn't have the spanner wrench to take out the hub nut which i think is the hardest part of all.i used a channel locks and a hammer to get it loose then since the thread was so rusted it was tide all the way from the beginning to the end,i bang the hammer for like half of an hour, so hard that my shoulder hurt the next day, i finally got it loose.after that was just a matter of following steps from the video.so when it was time to order the parts i decided to order the spanner wrench too, just to make it easier on the assembling. after all my washer is running smooth, hopping it will last a few more years before it breaks again. Doris C Brewster , NY October 13, 2015 Appliance: General Electric Washer WPRE6100G0WT Replaced shaft & mode shift assembly The shipping was great, ordered it on a Thursday morning, I was told it would arrive the following Tuesday, To my pleasant surprise it arrived Friday the next day, The video instructions where excellent, But definitely buy the spanner wrench, I soaked the nut with liquid wrench for about an hour, Then used the hammer on the wrench, It took a little persuasion but finally came loose, Seeing as you have to take the whole washing machine apart, i thought it was wise to also purchase,Tub bearing washer,Tub split ring, Hub washer, Hub nut, and Tub bearing,And remember in the video they are taking apart a new machine, looks easy but be prepared with a wire brush to clean of all the accumulated gunk, (etc) I was lucky enough to be able to take the outer tub, and inner tub, to my driveway and use the wire brush and also power wash them, I also had my laptop right where i was working so i could follow the instructions step by step.
