How to Troubleshoot & Replace Lg AP4436613 / 3891ER2003A Detergent Box Assembly

New dispenser fixed the issue with water left in dispenser but after a service call I learned that Tide Ultra Stain Release liquid will not dissolve properly in the dispenser. After changing back to Tide regular liquid, everything worked as advertised. 

Bought new part and now it works perfectly 

I first checked for blockage in the drain hose. There was some significant buildup but not a complete blockage of the hose. I did remove the drain hoses and connector manifold and thoroughly cleaned these parts. I then ordered the drain pump and both hot and cold inlet valves from appliancepartspro.com. I received the parts the next day and installed them. Washer is back up and running normally with a fast water fill and fast drain! I also replaced the hot/cold washer hoses which connect the washer to the hookups. After disassembling the old inlet valves, I found the rubber manifolds (inside the solenoid) to be completely deteriorated. While I had no water leak, I do feel like the inlet valves were at the end of their useful life and the deterioration was causing my slow water fills. The wash cycle times are much faster than before which is a result of the normal fill and drain times I now have again. This washer is 11 years old (WM2277HW). 

I was going to use liquid detergent for the first time. The LG owners manual required that a special tray must be placed into the tray used for powder detergent. I called LG customer service and asked if I could just put the liquid in the powder tray, they said the liquid would not be added properly to the wash cycle if I did not use the liquid tray. I purchased a liquid tray from appliance parts pros. 

I followed the Video on your Web Site to make the repairs. The repair went as described in the Video. 

Removed upper panel to washer and the solenoids were right on the top of the washer. What a easy fix The repair company wanted a service call and money to replace them it took my husband 15 minutes to repair the washer. Back in busy. Thanks AppliancePartsPros.com for the parts. 

Ordered new detergent cup with the needed white tab that attaches to it. Once I installed the new one, fixed the problem! No more water building up in the detergent drawer! 

Got part, it fit, all fixed 

I bought a new Detergent Box Assembly and the detergent box is now dry after a wash.
