How to Troubleshoot & Replace Lg AP4436613 / 3891ER2003A Detergent Box Assembly

Order and replace plus a second backup 

Ordered a new drawer for the washing machine 

Before I ordered the part for my discontinued LG washer I confirmed it with online parts associate. So excited when the part was received the next day and was a perfect fit. Outstanding service! 

I had to replace it quick. Before the woman of the house came back from a trip and see's the part. This washer is new. Probably 2 months old. Me and my dog were in the breech. Next day Fed Ex. New part in old part gone. Kids sworn to secrecy. 

Ordered new detergent box

Purchased the tub bearing(s), the seal, tub O-ring & Drain hose kit from Appliance Parts Pros......I watched YouTube to see how it was done and performed the repairs......washer now runs like new 

Removed the top panel and saw that a substantial amount of mold and soap residue was present in the dispenser assembly. I removed the assembly and disconnected the 4 hoses being careful to label them for reassembly, tried to clean out the distribution channels with mixed results. Went online to AppliancePartsPros.com and ordered both the assembly and the detergent box assembly. removed the supply hoses from the pumps and cleaned them out, reassembled the washer with the new parts and voila! It works again. NOTE: we use Tide Liquid which has been changed recently to a much heavier consistency so we dilute with a small amount of water with each fill. 

The part I ordered was simply an insert to accommodate liquids detergent. 

Ordered from Appliance Parts Pros, received it withing 4 days and put it in.
