How to Troubleshoot & Replace Lg AP7220429 / 4581EL2002L Roller Kit

Installed four new rollers, a new belt, and an idler pulley. Less than two years ago I chose the $32 repair kit but the rollers were all shot already and in need of replacement. One roller's rubber "tire" had almost fallen off the plastic hub. DO NOT GET CHEAP REPLACEMENT PARTS FROM THESE OUTSOURCED SUPPLIERS! OEM is the way to go! Original rollers lasted over 10 years, I would expect these new OEM rollers to last as long. Easy to disassemble the dryer replace rollers and vacuum out the interior- all the cheap rollers as they disintegrated left rubber particles all over the interior of the dryer. 

Replaced the drum support rollers. 

Replaced drum rollers and drum seals. 

Following the most excellent video with Matt, I disassembled the dryer and discovered that the front drum roller had disintegrated. I went ahead and replaced the dryer belt since I had the whole thing apart. Love the super fast shipping. 

Followed the video and replaced the drum roller. The video was 90% right the control board was not where the video said on this model. Must’ve been older than the one they showed us but everything else was great. 

I ordered 4 drum rollers, a drum belt,and an idler pulley. I watched the you tube videos showing how to install these parts. I installed the parts and the dryer now functions as it is supposed to. The job was not complicated and I did clean up all the lint and dust inside the machine and in the dryer vent all the way out to the exterior while I had the unit apart. One of the drum rollers had seized up on the shaft. Since that roller was not turning it was also forcing the belt to work harder than normal to rotate the drum and had worn it enough that it really did need to be replaced. 

LG DLGX9001V Parts needed 6 drum rollers, 3 on back panel and 3 on bulk head (not 4 per video and operator). Had to place additional order for 2 more rollers delaying project while dryer was disassembled. Also replaced belt and tension bracket while inside dryer. The back panel where the rear rollers were mounted had to be removed so you can get to the rear nut of the roller. This is an extra step not seen on video. 

Replace all rollers, replace new belt. Rollers were the issue, only one bad roller, but I replaced all 4 rollers, and a new belt. since it has been 6 years since I bought the dryer. I did not replace the idler pulley even though I ordered a new one. I'll keep it for future use. Watching instruction video is very helpful. Taking all photos and place screws by numbers, it helped to put all all screws at right location. Take time and wear gloves, to prevent cuts. Clean with vacuum hose to keep unit clean before re-assembly all parts back. Now run like new. 

Followed your repair video on YouTube, used a screw gun and some other small common hand tools and took the machine apart easily, everything was well explained. I found one of the wheels inside the front panel that holds the drum had frozen up and had a flat spot on it. I decided to replace all 4, the belt and the wool seal. I should have purchased 2 wool seals, but didn’t realize they were ordered separately. The whole job took about 2 hours start to finish, Be careful the metal is sharp, I got one good cut….
