How to Troubleshoot & Replace Lg AP5657415 / MHY62044106 Flapper Door Spring

With the flapper door spring that I ordered and the helpful video that was provided on your website. I never thought I would be able to locate this part. Thanks APP! 

Replaced the flapper spring and refrigerator door gasket. 

This is an easy repair once you get the correct spring. My LG side by side required a 6 coil spring instead of a 5 coil spring. We followed the online video & released the mullion from the door so it could be slid up far enough to install the new spring. This was much easier with help from my wife to hold the door steady & then insert the spring while I manipulated the mullion. 

I watched all three of your videos. Excellent videos!!!! I took my computer into the kitchen and watched while I was working. I did the left door gasket first then replaced the flapper spring. Then I did the right door gasket. The only problem I had was holding the flapper while unplugging the electrical connection. I had to use 2 hands.

I got the parts list from AppliancePartsPros.com (the manufacturer. wanted $50 for the manual) I ordered the correct Flapper Door Spring and watched a Youtube video on replacing it. It was very simple and cheap. 

I ordered the part from your company. It arrived early and fit perfectly. To be honest, I purchased the same part from another vendor and it came late and was the wrong part. Needless to say, I will fill all my appliance parts needs with you, from now on. 

Other sites wanted us to buy the whole part, but your site had just the spring and we got it very fast. Now the door closes the way it should...thank you! 

I watched the repair video and ordered the spring. When the spring arrived, I followed the instructions from the video and replaced the spring in less than 15 min. 

I ordered the LG Refrigerator Door Flapper Spring from AppliancePartsPros.com. It is listed as an LG genuine OEM parts. Received the spring and it is not the same as the original one. One of the legs is longer and it needs to be cut ~ 1/8" in order to fit right. I did not remove the door flapper as shown on the replacement video. I just removed the covers at the door hinges, in 3 places. I slid the door flapper and installed the spring. It was very simple way of doing it.
