How to Troubleshoot & Replace Lg AP4998848 / EBF49827801 Washer Door Lock Switch

I had called a service place to schedule an appointment was horrified that it would be 5 days and $135.00 to just come out and look at the washer. I knew what the problem was from looking in the instructions that came with my machine. I wondered how much the part would be on top of this outrageous charge. My googling I was fortunate enough to stumble upon AppliancePartsPros! I found the part and looked at the video and said I CAN DO THAT! Ordered the part and cancelled the service appointment! The part arrived as promised. It took me about 15 minutes from opening the package to starting the washer for my first of many loads of clothes! You would not believe what a boost to my moral it did for me to do it myself but how could I not with that easy video! Keep on being awesome! 

After taking a look on youtube I took apart the washer, looked up the part from the number and ordered it. installed the door latch and everything was back to normal.

I searched and went to appliancepartspros.com purchased a. $40 part. I watched video. It took 20 min. including cleaning out the gasket. 

I looked up the error code in the washer manual and decided the switch for the door was bad. I watched the video on your website about how to replace this switch. Without your video I wouldn't have had a clue about how to replace it. I followed the instructions in the video and replaced it without a hitch. Of course it took me longer than the guy in the video but I think I did well for my first time with this switch. The hardest part was detaching the washer wiring harness from the switch.

Replaced door switch. Went down from the top. The hardest part was getting the wiring plug out of old switch. 

Used the LG troubleshooter which said the likely issue was the washer door lock switch. Ordered the switch and replaced the part following the video how to. Most of the time was moving the washer away from the wall and back. Problem solved. This saved a service call which would probably have been north of $150.
