How to Troubleshoot & Replace Lg AP4998848 / EBF49827801 Washer Door Lock Switch

Replaced Door Lock Switch. 

Followed the AppliancePartsPros.com video 

Ordered the replacement Door Lock switch and replaced it myself. 

I ordered Door Lock Switch. 

1. Searched online information about the displayed error code. 2. Went to AppliancePartsPros.com and learned from their videos. 3. Looked at the suspected part on their schematic diagram and ordered it. 4. Part arrived in a few days, installed the part as shown in the video tutorial. 5. The whole installation process took less than ten minutes and the only tool used was a Phillips Screwdriver. 6. Washer is now operating like brand new. 

Ordered a new Door Lock Switch. Replacement was straightforward. Removed the Outer Door Gasket Clamp, pulled the gasket away from the front panel to access the switch. Removed the two screws securing the switch, removed switch and unplugged the connector. Upon removal, noticed a small spring no longer engaged on a plastic pivot "gate"? May have been the issue all along? Noted that the replacement no longer included the same "gate". New and improved? Replaced the switch anyway. Reassembled in reverse order. Whole job took about 10 minutes. So far, no errors which will allow us to again use the delayed wash feature without worry. 

The locking mechanism stopped working. Watching the video helped a lot. I will add putting back the clamp with the spring is a little complicated. Try to stretch the spring a few times because it is stiff until it gets more flexibility and it will work better. I used pressured pliers 

I ordered Door Lock Switch after using your site to determine what the problem was and then watched the repair video. I received the part 2 days later and 15 minutes later I was washing clothes. 

We replaced the drain pump and door lock. The repair video showed AC supply wires on the opposite terminals compared to my washer. Since it's an AC single-phase motor, it doesn't matter if the wires are reversed. It will still run in the correct direction. Mine may have been miswired from the factory. Who knows. I put it back together the way that I found it. The new pump works great and is nice and quiet. The new door lock works as well. Nice not having to wait 5 minutes for the door lock to release at the end of a cycle. The repair video was awesome. 

This Washer Door Lock Switch resolved the "de" door error code for our LG washing machine where the door fails to lock. Took about 10-15 minutes to replace and test it afterward. The switch mechanism is designed a bit differently from the original and appears that it would last longer because of that.
