Ordered a new Door Lock Switch. Replacement was straightforward. Removed the Outer Door Gasket Clamp, pulled the gasket away from the front panel to access the switch. Removed the two screws securing the switch, removed switch and unplugged the connector.
Upon removal, noticed a small spring no longer engaged on a plastic pivot "gate"? May have been the issue all along? Noted that the replacement no longer included the same "gate". New and improved?
Replaced the switch anyway. Reassembled in reverse order. Whole job took about 10 minutes.
So far, no errors which will allow us to again use the delayed wash feature without worry.
