Robert M South Amboy , NJ July 26, 2016 Appliance: Samsung Dishwasher DMT800RHS/XAA I was getting a s5 error on my samsung dishwasher This happens now about every 2 1/2 years. The S5 error is a drain restriction error of some sort. The first time, I cleaned everything in the drain base and checked the tube to the drain pipe but it still came up S5 half way through the cycle.. While searching the web I read someone changed the water level sensor. It's an easy part to change. It has taken care of my problem twice now. I guess the contacts corrode because they are in contact with water. I also make sure to clean out the drain screen and base of all the goop that gathers. Also pull the turbine wheel out, there is a screen under there that really clogs up which sends water to the upper trays. Kenneth E Arnold , MD January 12, 2016 Appliance: Samsung Dishwasher DMT400RHS/XAA Over water level error Replaced the float assembly case and have had 4 successful runs without the error code. Before was getting the error at various times of the wash cycle. The repair job was easy and requires a screw driver and pair of pliers to squeeze the hose clamps. If you are comfortable with pulling out the dishwasher, turning off the power to it and unplugging some hoses and connectors and unscrewing a few things, the job is a pretty easy one. I would also mention that I had a big retailer service department (starts with SEA) come out and quote me on the main PCB board and a few other things that would have totaled hundreds of dollars when all that was really needed was this part. I am thankfully I have found this website as it has the parts and information that I needed to do the job and saved me serious cash!
