Isauro D Suisun City , CA August 20, 2016 Appliance: Model SAMSUNG MICROWAVE SMH 9207ST Samsung microwave smf 9207st vent and light button pushed in After searching how much it would cost to repair, i felt i should just replace the microwave till one of the customer in the appliance repair shop told me to order the replacement button. I research and found that it was cheap to replace with basic tools. Ordered the parts, and it took me 20 minutes to replace. Removed two screws (top) holding the hood piece, slide it to the left and pull forward. Remove one screw holding the control board, lift and pull. Took pictures of all wire connection and remove the board, this will give you access to the part to replace. I also read the poor design and placed a small hard rubber to put behind the button board. Solid fix. Wife is happy so i'm happy too. Read More... 16 People found this story helpful Do-It-Yourself Rating: Repair Time Estimate: 15-30 minutes Tools: Screwdrivers

Louis P Lords Valley , PA September 24, 2015 Appliance: Model SAMSUNG MODEL SMH9207ST MICROWAVE The buttons for the fan and light broke and fell inside the microwave Removed the top deflector hood off the top and removed the front panel off the right side of the microwave(four screws). I then removed the printed circuit to access the broken push button module and button select board. I then replaced the push button module and button select board. Poor design since there is no solid support for the module and board but four small plastic clips. I used a piece of rigid 3/4 inch styrofoam insulation and a piece of dense foam rubber to use a base for the button module and board. Solid repair!!! Steve K Warrenton , VA May 10, 2016 Appliance: Model SAMSUNG ;SMH9207 The fan button on the front of the microwave was pushed in and would not work Ordering and receiving the parts was easy. Everything came promptly and was well packed, Installation was another issue. The 4 switch assembly as designed my SAMSUNG is very cheaply made and extremely difficult to install. It is a shame that SAMSUNG doe snot provide a service manual and break out DWG--would have made it easier. The easy part-- I unscrewed and top vent louver --2 screw and removed it easily. Then I had 1 screw to remove and lift out the right front panel of the microwave which is were the switches one. Since I could not gain access to the switches-- a poor design if they would have moved a bracket 1/2 inch I would have been done, Instead I had to unhook all the wire connectors and remove the entire panel. Then I had to remove the mother board which was mounted to a metal bracket and remove the metal bracket to get access. Getting then re-install-- glad I took picture with my phone and didn't trust my memory. William H Cosby , TN August 29, 2017 Button for fan was broken / card was dislodged 1. Unplug the power. 2. Slide off top vent by removing two screws. The door must be open to remove the vent off the top of the microwave. 3. Remove one screw to the left of the panel that must be removed in order to get to the control board and buttons. 4. Take a picture or label the cables connected to the control board. 5. Remove old buttons 6. Insert the new 4-button set, which must be inserted as a unit. This is tricky and you need to be very careful not to break any of the buttons in the process. 7. Mount the new board and connect the cable. 8. Connect the remaining cables 9. Put everything back together in reverse order. 10. Plug in and test. Read More... 3 People found this story helpful Do-It-Yourself Rating: Repair Time Estimate: 30-60 minutes Tools: Screwdrivers
