How to Troubleshoot & Replace Samsung AP4205355 / DC64-00519B Washer Door Lock Switch Assembly

Ordered part by looking at parts diagram and followed You tube instructions. Easy and quick! 

The washer would not drain the water during the spin cycle. After I decided the washer drain pump was the most likely cause of the problem I drained the water out and went to the Samsung website. I then viewed a video of the repair. It was very straightforward and seemed to be something I could do myself. I ordered the washer drain pump and also a door lock. Both parts were delivered overnight and by the next afternoon it was mission accomplished! My wife say's the washer must have been gradually getting less efficient because now it winds up like a 747 instead of a Piper Cub! Thanks for a very well designed washer that every man can fix. I watched the YouTube repair video from Appliance Parts Pros. The video was excellent and provided an accurate, step-by-step process on how to fix the problem. It was challenging since there were a lot of disassemblies required in order to get to the part that was needed to be repaired. The parts were ordered from AppliancePartsPros.com and received the next day. I was back watching the video for the reassembly and in no time the washer was back in position and running like a new machine and I saved myself several hundreds of dollars in the process fixing it myself. 

Ordered parts based on watching repair videos. Parts came in a timely fashion and where exactly what was needed. Repair videos helped make the repair fast and easy and the washer is working well saving me hundreds of dollars. I had a repair man in to look at it at first , charged me 110.00 and did nothing said all parts where backordered. I ordered the parts and within 90 minutes I was done.

Called a local appliance repair company I had used before for a different issue on our dryer. They said it was most likely a door lock switch assembly, especially since the washer is 10 yrs old. I gave them the model and serial number, they called back with a quote of about $300 - trip charge, labor and for the part. Clothes were piling up and we needed it fixed now, it was about 5 days before Christmas, so I said yes. They called back a few hours later, said part was back ordered with no estimated in stock time. Aggravated, I googled the problem and up popped a YouTube video from Appliance Part Pros on how to fix it. Wow, super easy. I watched it and immediately ordered the part and it was here in 2 days with ground delivery. I watched the video a second time, then timed myself. Fixed it in 14 minutes with 2 screwdrivers. Easy-peasy. Oh, and I called the appliance repair company back to cancel the work order, and their part was still on back order. Saved $250. Will definitely look up how to videos again if any additional appliance problems. Great experience.
