How to Troubleshoot & Replace Whirlpool AP6006658 / WP2216112 Air Diffuser

Our 20 year old side-by-side Kenmore Elite refrigerator was not cooling properly at the upper part of the refrigerator. I ordered a new diffuser/damper and the two sensors that are attached to it and bingo, cool air was again flowing from the freezer! The parts came much faster than expected - I ordered them on a Monday night and got them on Wednesday with standard shipping. And thanks to the helpful videos included on each part's webpage, the repair was a snap. AppliancePartsPros.com will continue to get my business. 

I pulled the old out and put the new in. It took me 15 min after watching a video! 

Saw troubleshooting suggestion that diffuser might be bad. Video showing how to change the diffuser looked easy. Ordered it and thermistor. Super quick 2nd day delivery. Installed the parts and fridge works great again. A lot cheaper than new fridge!!! Thanks. 

Installed the diffuser for the unit- followed the video on your website. It was fixed in less than an hour. Thanks. Next week I plan to tackle the bracket to get ice/water from the dispenser.

Replaced Air diffuser and both Thermistors. Easy. But you will need a long 1/4" nut driver. The only point of confusion is that in the video there was a small cover over the freezer section of the air diffusor; but in my unit the cover was one piece with the "L" shaped cover that attaches to ceiling and top/back. I thought I lost the cover somehow, but I think it was a change in design. 

Defuser wouldn’t snap-in. Had to trim styrofoam 3/16 off to snap-in.
