Instead of buying a new washer I watched a video on how to replace the switch. It took about 15 minutes to replace. Once the new switch was installed the machine ran perfect. Charles S New Bern , NC April 25, 2017 Appliance: Whirlpool Washer WTW57ESVW1 Washer would instantly agitate without first filling the tub with water 1) Remove control panel atop the washer. This was the hardest part of the job. I used a flat metal ruler to pop the two springs that hold the control panel in place. 2) Remove two wire connectors and one plastic hose from the old switch. 3) Remove switch by twisting it counter clockwise. 4) Insert new switch by twisting it clockwise. 5) Attach plastic hose and two wire connectors. 6) Replace control panel.
