How to Troubleshoot & Replace Whirlpool AP6017747 / WPW10248240 Temperature Switch

I read the FAQ section of Appliance Pros parts web site. I found out I needed to replace the temperature control switch, WPW10248240, to correct my problem. This switch also controls the tub filling water level based on air pressure via the attached vinyl tubing. I ordered the switch and the tubing, WP353255, in case mine was no longer any good, and I also ordered the retaining clips for the control cabinet, (2) of WP8312709, because they can be damaged when accessing the controls. My new parts arrived quickly and I installed the new switch the same day I received it along with the retaining clips. My tubing was still good so I did not install it since I would have to remove the entire cabinet to replace it. My washer is now operating like new and I am very happy with Appliance Parts Pros. They are a class act web site and the FAQ section of the site is extremely valuable for helping troubleshoot any appliance. My repair took less than 15 minutes to complete. 

Used this part to fix the cycle. It worked like a charm. I Googled the problem, found the answer on AppliancePartsPros.com, found the part, found the video showing how to change it out. It cost $85 and took about 15 minutes to fix! Thanks. 

I fixed it by watching a video of changing temperature switch. the lady at Appliancepartspros told me which switch to purchase. Thank you vey much 

Read "How to Troubleshoot & Replace Whirlpool AP4459660 / W10248240 Temperature Switch" on AppliancePartsPros.com. Ordered part, received part from FedEX in 1.5 days and installed the part. Problem was fixed and I was able to do a load of clothes in under 48 hours from when part was ordered. 

Ordered timer that didn't work but with the wonderful advice ordered the temperture control that also has the auto fill in same switch, sent timer back works like a new machine. Can't thank everyone enough. Old timer was re-installed 

Looked up the problem others had and determined it was the water temp control. Ordered one and installed. Fixed the problem. Thanks 

Came across this web site since i was told it was going to be a very expensive repair. I felt i should get more then 7 years out of a washer. Read some reviews and said lets roll the dice for 84.00 which included shipping. I ordered the new tempature switch wed night at 10:30 pm and it was in my mailbox friday afternoon. Installed it saturday morning and low and behold we now have a flawless operating washer machine. Thanks to all at appliance parts pro for all of there help and there awesome web site. 

Replaced part 

Replaced flowmeter,temperature switch,lid switch. 

As was the case with 90% of the problems described for this part, a very simple replacement was needed. Took me 15 minutes. Use putty knives or a couple flat kitchen knives to "pop" (under each end of the Control Panel) the front of the Controls panel face up
