How to Troubleshoot & Replace Whirlpool AP6011740 / WP8181850 Front Bellow Tub Seal

Watched a video. Ordered parts. 

Found great video on youtube from AR, showed how to make repair by only removing bottom front panel. Went surprisingly well, took less than an hour. New bellow seal from Appliance Parts Pros was perfect fit, very happy with their service. 

I had ordered the replacement part from Applianceparts pros.com and with the help of Matt's video on you tube , I was able to remove the old bella and install the new one. 

Put on a new seal 

Removed and replaced front bellow tub seal. 

Replaced tub seal solved the problem, old tub seal had a hole in it 

We received both parts on the same order. When replacing the dryer's door handle, I also decided to change the side the door opened from which I did not previously know was an option. This was a relatively easy job using primarily a Phillips head screwdriver. The part matched perfectly and the job took about 45 minutes. The bellow tub seal was a little more complicated, but the job was made easy using the Appliance Parts Pro video that provided step-by-step instructions from start to finish. The only minor issue I had was that a half-inch diameter tube on my machine that penetrates the bellows at the top center through a prefabricated hole was not discussed in the video. I simply poked it through the hole in the same configuration it was on the old bellows. While I had the machine disassembled, I went ahead and did some internal cleaning on the areas that are not normally accessible. This job, including cleanup, took about 2 hours. 

It was messy and took several hours but my husband and I were able to do the repair and the machine is working great now. Also the afresh cleaner made a big difference, The washer performed now as if it was new, thanks for recommending it 

This was my first major appliance repair, or major to me anyway based on the price of the parts, bellows and inlet valve. I asked Mr. Google what was causing these problems, he led me to your site, which after checking a few other sites for confirmation, came back here because this site had the best info and incredibly helpful videos. The parts arrived really fast. With my computer on the dryer to watch the video, pausing to complete each step along the way, the dis-assembly and re-assemble went fairly smooth. Being a girl, it was a bit challenging as I don't have the hand strength of a guy, but I got it done. There were a couple of minor differences between my model of washer and the videos, but nothing insurmountable. First load is washing right now, so I'd say that's a success. My only piece of advice is the door hinge bends really easy and if you bend it like I did, it adds another $100 to your repair. 

Watched the online video. Took about an 1-1 1/2 hours to replace. Have been getting my appliance repair parts from AppliancePartsPros.com for years. Never had a problem.
