Stephen M. October 16, 2020 for Model Number ghw925omw1 My washer is really smelly. I have done everything to clean it, multiple times. I researched on google, bought used special cleaners, and cleaned the gasket inside and out, thoroughly. I leave the door open when not in use. It will smell ok for a few days then bad again. My next step is to replace the door gasket completely. Is this an appropriate action or would it be a waste of my time and money?
1 Answer Stephen, "bought and used special cleaners" if you used and followed the instructions, that should have solved the issue. It is possible for the bellows/boot to retain the odor but it should have subsided. You will also want to access and remove the drain pump filter/button catcher and clean it out and replace the bellows. Thanks, Read More...
Paul September 20, 2020 for Model Number Kenmore 110 47532601 I replaced the door bellows. After a few loads of wash I heard a sound like rubber rubbing on something. No leaks. There seems to be some grit on the bellows. Is this normal break in?
1 Answer Hello Paul, this is not that uncommon due to the small gap between the bellows and the front of the basket, it usually stops with time and use, consider it a break in period. Read More...
Lucy July 09, 2019 for Model Number GHW9400PT4 The tub seal still hold water when I open the door, pull the tub seal back there is water standing there. I take a towel to soak up the water. What could be wrong?
1 Answer Lucy, When you pull apart the tub seal if you will look in the center of the bottom you will see some drain holes there. Use something small and not sharp to clear those holes and most of your water will drain back to the outer tub. There will always be some water sitting in there that's why it is important to leave the door open between loads. Read More...
Brian April 28, 2019 for Model Number 11042934200 I recently replaced the bellows tub seal (WP8181850). All went well except that the door has resistance as it nears closure. Once the door closes it pops back open. I have readjusted the bellows at the door and readjusted the clamp. However no mater how I readjust the bellows, at the door, it has resistance and will not stay closed. If I hold the door closed and start a short cycle the door will lock, the cycle will start and after 30 seconds the door pops open. Any clue how to fix this?
1 Answer Brian, This issue would most likely be just because it is a new gasket and will take time to break itself in. Read More...
Maritza April 08, 2019 for Model Number 110.42926200 Hi, my dad has a Kenmore Elite HE washer - its about 10 yrs old. Just last week, he noticed it was leaking water so we notice the bellow/boot was worn out. I ordered one and he follow the install video on your website. After, complete install attempted to run a cycle and the door will not close and we noticed the latch does not catch. I hope you can help us, thank you!
1 Answer Maritza, you will want to check to ensure that the door bellow is seated properly all around, if it does not seat properly, it can cause this issue. A new bellow can have some stiffness to it when newly installed, but it should not prevent the door from closing all the way. Read More...
Troy Gaskill March 23, 2019 for Model Number Wfwhedw0 I have a front loader washer and when it spins It bangs or knocks to the right side of the outer panel Any recommendations thanks
1 Answer Troy, Check and level the washer in both directions, make sure the washer is on solid floor and flooring. Remove the top panel and back panel to check the tub support springs on each side of the tub on top and the struts/shock absorbers on the bottom. You didn't mention any noises, but you may want to check the concrete counter balances to see if they've cracked or broke and the tub is shifting. Read More...
Craig March 20, 2019 for Model Number 110.45992 Installed new washer door bellow and now door will not latch closed?
1 Answer Craig, you may want to check to ensure that the bellow is seated flush as this can cause the bellow to stick out and impede on the door latching. Read More...
Craig March 20, 2019 I replaced the bellow seal and all seemed to go correct but now the door will not latch. All lines up but apperas not to make full contact to throw latch.
