How to Troubleshoot & Replace Whirlpool AP6005965 / WP2180226 Refrigerator Dispenser Control Bracket

Youtube videos from AppliancePartsPros.com were fantastic. They walked me through getting the right parts and went above and beyond. 

Followed the instructional video you provided and it was easy. Remove the front panel, disconnect the wires, remove the broken part and then do everything in reverse with the new part. Overall it was very easy once I watched the video. 

First I thought it was the motor as it did not turn. I ordered one and replaced it and it still did not work. I then took off the panel in the front of the freezer and discovered that the prongs that hold the dispenser switch in place were broken. I then checked the switch and it worked so the only thing that was wrong was the control bracket. Make sure to check this out before ordering any parts. Installation was easy with the video being spot on. 

Watched the video, ordered the replacement, took 10min the complete the repair, fast shipping and Thank You. 

I followed the online video and popped in the new part in about 10 minutes. With the Whirlpool Gold stainless steel look, you have to remove the door handle and the stainless panels in order to pop off the face of the dispenser unit. 

The Control Bracket that held the switch was broken. I replaced it and it now works well. Nothing wrong with the switch. YouTube provided excellent instruction on the problem and how to fix it. 

Ordered the control bracket and ice dispense guide on line. I put in the model number of the refrigerator and all the parts were displayed. The greatest value of the website is the video install module that applies to each part. Walks you through the entire install process. Awesome! 

Great video that helped a lot with the part replacement. My only wish would be a “trouble shooting” video that would narrow down the exact cause of the problem! I spent over $300.00 on parts that didn’t need to be replaced! The actual malfunctioning part was only $20.00. 

I wish I had seen your video first, I would not have bought a $150 replacement motor when the $50 part from you solved the problem. BUT .. you saved me $5 - $7000 for new kitchen appliances.. TNX randy
