How to Troubleshoot & Replace Whirlpool AP6005965 / WP2180226 Control Bracket

Ordered new part from appliance parts pros of course 

I replaced bracket on whirlpool model ed2ghexnq01,part number 2180226 

I couldn't figure out how to get the door off to see what was wrong with it. I didn't want to force it, and break the cover. I went to appliancepartspros.com, and watched a video that showed me how. after I found the tray that holds the switch in place was broken, I ordered one from the site. I was surprised that the part was only $8, and by how fast it came. I watched the video one more time to make sure I didn't skip a step, and 15 minutes later, my ice machine was repaired. This is the site I use for my home repairs, and for work. I am the building maintenance chief at a large nursing home. Thank you for helping me to keep my equipment up and running!

After watching your videos I discovered plastic pins that the dispensor switch hinges on were broken ordered replacement and recieved within 24 hrs. Thank you 

Great video Easy repair 

Replaced bracket. About a twenty minute repair. 

The video for both the water tube and bracket installation (doing both at the same time made the process even easier than the video) were extremely useful...I may have completed both tasks in less than an hour; including setup and cleanup. My wife was surprise to see me done...she missed the whole operation. 

After watching the video it was easy to see which part we needed. We followed the instructions on thee video.
