How to Troubleshoot & Replace Whirlpool AP6010191 / WP660579 Oven Broil Element

Purchased bake and broil elements as well as temp sensor. Oven is 18 years old...wasn't sure which was not functioning properly. Carefully Removed all three components, and then installed new. Oven heats perfectly. Saved buying new wall oven. Installation was very easy. I am a homemaker and mom. We can do all kinds of fix its. These folks are outstanding! !!! Items arrived very fast and packaged well. 

Ordered new Kenmore broil element and also bake element just because it had never been replaced. I had to remove 2 phillips screws(on back wall of oven) to replace the bake element and 4 phillips screws(2 on back wall and 2 on ceiling) to replace broil element. The broil element screws were very corroded and stuck so vise grips were needed for removal. I replaced them with new 10-32 stainless machine screws from hardware store. Just the removal and replacement process for the 2 elements took 5 minutes. 

I replaced the oven bake element. The screws securing the element were rusty, I had to use an impact driver to remove the screws. 

Ordered new element using the Oven Model Number and replaced the top unit. 

Replaced the old element with a new one. 

The element was definitely bad, with sparks at times and holes in the element itself. I watched the video on how to replace the element and I encountered the same problem where one of the connectors slipped off when I was taking the old element out. I followed the video directions and replaced the element in 30 minutes. Note: Make sure you secure the wires in order to prevent them from falling back behind the oven wall!

Found the part, ordered the part, watched your video. Did everything including using vegetable papered wires to hold the electrical wires from being pulled back inside the oven wall. Great Tip! Might want to autosuggest a pair of new screws to replace the old ones next time. Other than that, yes, truly a doable job in 30 min.
