Matthew B Gilbert , AZ May 09, 2015 Oven would ignite sometimes Here is a suggestion for others making this repair... You don't have to remove the igniter from the gas pipe while you are bent over in the oven. You can remove the gas pipe and igniter from the oven and then replace the igniter on the counter. To do this you should remove the front and back screw on the gas pipe. Once you have taken those two out you can slowly lift the gas pipe up and disconnect the igniter. Now you can remove the gas pipe and igniter from the oven. Leo H Colville , WA March 09, 2018 Appliance: Whirlpool 30`` Gas Freestanding Self Clean Range Sealed Burner WFG524SLAB1 The oven would not light. I read your stats that stated 70% of the time it is the igniter at fault, so I ordered the igniter from you, I had a problem lining up the holes in the igniter to match the threaded part, and the screws were so short it was hard to hold them. I finally accomplished the task by replacing one of the screws to a longer one.
