How to Troubleshoot & Replace Whirlpool AP6010825 / WP74003020 Element, Bake

Ordered a replacement bake element. The ordered part was promptly sent. The oven is working just fine again. 

The same thing happened about two years ago and when I took off the back cover, the high limit switch was melted and crumbling, so I replaced it and it's worked fine until a couple of weeks ago. We smelled a stinky electrical burning smell a couple of times and then it stopped heating past 250 degrees. Turns out the high limit switch was crumbling again. This time I replaced both the high limit switch and the bottom element and it heats up again like it should to any temperature. One of the connector wires to the element was half broken, so it took some time to cut that and reconnect it to the same butt connector. 

Bought the part. Replaced the part by removing two screws (and turning off the power after being shocked by the element) and reinstalled. Easy to order and easier to make the oven great again. 

Ordered replacement element from Appliance Parts Pros and replaced the element. Also ordered replacement appliance light bulb. 

It was very easy to fix took my time to change it out following instructions

Unscrewed 2 screws and unplugged each end of the element. New part came, took it out of the box, plugged 2 wires into the new element. Screwed in 2 screws, and then the job was done. Took about 5 minutes. Very easy fix!! 

Two screws and plug and cook. it's that easy 

Replaced with new element. 

Remove the old one and plug in the new one.
