How to Troubleshoot & Replace Whirlpool AP6011444 / WP77001094 Oven Bake Element

It was very simple. just had to make two connections to leads coming from back of inside part of oven.

Very easily by taking out the two screws and taking off the connectors. Replace with new element and put screws back in. 

A meat loaf was ready to go into the oven & when I turned it on to preheat, the element exploded in one of the sections and that was the end of dinner for the night! We found the new part on Appliance Parts Pros. com. The price was very reasonable so we ordered it and it was here in two days! Fixing it was insanely easy. There were two screws connecting the old element to the back of the oven, along with two flat-type electrical connectors. Both were very easy to undo. The part that I ordered from Appliance Parts Pros was absolutely perfect for our oven (an Armana), and fit exactly. It works great! The only difficulty I encountered was that one of the electrical connectors slipped behind the back of the oven. I was even warned that this might happen by Appliance Parts Pros' instructional video. I had to take the back off the oven to find the connector and poke it through to the oven. To avoid having this happen to you, I recommend holding the two connecting wires with one hand while disconnecting the old heating element with the other. I chose Appliance Parts Pros because they were the only ones who had the right part, and because they easily had the best prices for heating elements. They also offer fast standard shipping. Two thumbs up!

Ordered a replacement element from Appliance Parts Pro. I then watched the video on how to replace the element. Total replacement time for me was less than 3 minutes, start to finish. First turn off the breaker. Remove two screws, then pull the element out and unhook the attached wires, (being careful to not let the wire go back into the holes), then attach the wires to the new element, push it back into the proper position and replace the screws. Turn the breaker back on on you have a working oven. Very pleased with Appliance Parts Pro. Ordered on Saturday knowing it wouldn't ship before Monday. It arrived around 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, very fast service and a reasonable price of both the element and the shipping. 5 STARS to Appliance Parts Pro. 

I tested the bake element (the bottom one) with an ohm meter and there was no continuity. Replaced it with a new one (took 5 minutes) and problem solved. 

SO thankful for this part as Amana told me they had quit manufacturing it. My handy man had the job completed in 15 minutes (after shutting off the power of course) Thank you for the knowledgeable woman who answered my questions when I ordered :) Speedy shipment too!
