How to Troubleshoot & Replace Whirlpool AP6011444 / WP77001094 Oven Bake Element

First, I'd like to say I don't think enough people take the time to let everyone know how great their experiences are compared to negative ones they have! With that said AppliancePartsPros.com has been hands down one of the BEST shopping experiences I've ever had in any retail environment. I work for the largest online retailer and even they couldn't compete with the quality of service i received. I thought my oven was ruined when it caught on fire and that i had to replace the whole thing. When looking for a new oven i came across elements for sale which was what caught on fire so i started to investigate that and how to replace them which lead me to AppliancePartsPros.com. I'm not very handy at all but after talking to the online tech he walked me through on how to find the model number for the part i needed. He even provided me with the link to order the exact part i needed. Once my order was placed which was also cheaper (even with shipping) than even going to Home Depot or Lowe's. I got an email confirming my order and a tracking number. I had an issue with my tracking number not showing any information after i emailed the customer service department with in a half an hour Amber replied to my email and informed me of the processing time and that the tracking number will be active soon. With that being said my order arrived 2 days later as scheduled even on a Saturday which i was not expecting thinking it was 2 business days. Although i hope nothing else in my house breaks if it does and i can fix it These guys will definitely be my first stop! 

We ordered a new oven element from AppliancePartsPros for our electric range. It arrived so fast!! I had watched a video on their website which gave me confidence about repairing the stove (I had done this with a previous stove, but many, many years ago). My husband actually did the repair, but I could tell him about the steps in the video. The screwdriver was really the only tool needed, but we used needlenose pliars to help get the wire "plugs" detached. Very easy repair. 

Turned off breaker,unscrewed (2 screws) element,pulled element out from back of oven,unplugged 2 wires, attached wires to new element, pushed back in, installed retaining screws 

After calling 2 local repair shops and the appliance store, I was told it would take 10 business days for the part to come in. I found your site on the first try on the internet. I ordered the part and although shipping said it could take 5+ days, it was on my door step the next afternoon. Shut off the curcuit breaker, installed the element in 2 minutes. We ordered a new element and installed it in 5 minutes. It was a simple job and with the discounted price that Appliance Parts Pros have, it was a very inexpensive repair. The part arrived quickly too, which was nice. 

Fixed it myself- took 10 minutes tops and that is including I took the oven door off so it would be easier to reach inside. The repair videos are great, I knew it would be a simple repair after watching them. 

Once I realized the bake element was toast, I went online to look for the part; your website made it easy after I got the appliance model numbers I needed (the ability to check the part compatibility was great!), made the online order for the bake element (ordering a needed additional oven rack in the process). Once the element arrived (less than 2 days--wow!), I walked through the (mostly obvious) steps: turned off the breaker at the electrical panel, detached the element from the wires/connectors in the back of the oven (being careful not to let them slip through the holes in the back of the oven), attached the element, fired it up (running the exhaust fan to take care of the smell). Works great. This being my first oven repair, I checked for videos online to make sure I wasn't missing anything--my biggest concern: I hadn't disconnected an oven element before and I didn't want to pull at the wrong places on the connectors (running the risk of pulling wires apart from the connectors). 

With a screwdriver- unplugged it. Put the new one, in turn, it on worked fine thank you. 

Fully replaced the lower coil. 

Remove two screws, unplug two wires and install element. Renter happy to be able to make cornbread again. Good price, quick delivery. Will use Appliance Parts Pros again.
