How to Troubleshoot & Replace Whirlpool AP6024125 / WPY04100019 Element, Bake

I had a friend watch the video and do the work. There was a problem in that the screws were rusted to the back plate and would not screw off. My friend had to use a drill to drill through them to be able to remove them. He had to go to a hardware store to buy a new set. Once we had the new screws it went fairly quickly. Now our oven works great just in time for baking season. 

At first I called an appliance repair company to come out & repair my oven; mistake! The guy told me that my Jenn-air range was old & I needed to get a new one. He also lied stating that they didn't make parts for it any longer; another lie! I went searching on line & found your website & entered my problem & appliance info. Your site indicated that it could be the heating element, so I began looking @ my ovens heating element & it looked like it wasn't in the best shape. I ordered the part, which was delivered the next day & had my teenage son install it. He viewed a "how to change an oven's heating element" on U-tube & completed the task in about 10 mins & the only cost was for the part. My oven works great now. Thank God for your website & Youtube! Who needs an over-priced, lying repairman anyway! 

Very easy, First I was concerned I was going to break off the two screws that held the element in place. Because of the extreme heat over the years the screws were rusty. A half hour before trying to loosen the screws i sprayed a small amount of penetrating oil on the two screws and on the back of the mounting plate. I used a impact screw gun and they came right off... "phew". I pulled out the element carefully as the wires pulled out of the back of the oven. I used a small flat screwdriver and preyed off the wire connections. Then before i installed the new baking element i cleaned the oven where the penetrating oil was. Then I plugged in the wires, carefully slid in the new element as the wires slid back in to the the rear of the oven, tightened the screws by hand. TA-DA! 

Followed the instructional video on appliancepartspros.com. The replacement took 5 min. Thank you! 

Took 2 minutes. Two screws, two connections and two minutes. Easy. 

Removed two screws at the back of the oven that held the element. Disconnected two connects. Tested continuity of the element. It did not have continuity. Ordered new heating element. Received element in a few days. Installed element and tested. Good! 

With the help of YouTube, I was able to identify the problem, find the replacement part number and a web search led me to AppliancePartsPros.com. They had the best price and shipped it out same day by basic service. My part arrived the next day. The replacement was easy except for the old screws holding the element in place. No repair professional needed—I’m super happy with how smooth it went. 

Checked for power to element. replaced bottom element. 

Replaced the baking element. 

Replaced the bake element.
