How to Troubleshoot & Replace Whirlpool AP6024122 / WPY04000066 Bake Element Kit

Replaced element, very easy, less than 10 minutes 

Two screws pull out and disconnect two wires and reconnect and tighten two screws,Ten minutes done.

Replaced the elements with new ones ordered through Appliance Parts Pros. I wanted to tell you how pleased I am that I ordered the baking and broiler elements for my Maytag oven from you. Your website diagrams for my model of oven helped immensely in figuring out what parts I needed. Your order process was easy and the parts arrived within two days just as stated. To see if it was a board issue vs. element, I pulled the element out 2 inches from the frame to see if I had power. A volt meter and clip leads showed 240 volts AC at the element (that would not heat up!) told me that the element was bad. Got online, found the part and paid the nice man.. 2 days later and 10 minutes to install, Thanksgiving is back on track! Very happy with the part and the service!! 

Removed suspected element. Checked for continuity. None. 

Noticed a glow in the oven, heating element was spewing sparks at different areas of the element 

Replacement element was ordered and received from appliance pros in about 2 days. Two sheet metal screws at the back of the oven hold the element in place. Removing them and pulling the element forward about 3 inches and the connecting wires can be removed from the element. Installation of the new element is the reverse. Turn off the circuit breaker before starting (240V, 50 amps)! 

I did it myself 

Bought new element and intstalled it and it heats oven just fine.
