Kenneth J Crete , IL December 23, 2025 Appliance: Model MAYTAG CWE5800ACS14 The lower double oven stopped working the element was visibly broken it's a week before christmas! Replacement element was ordered and received from appliance pros in about 2 days. Two sheet metal screws at the back of the oven hold the element in place. Removing them and pulling the element forward about 3 inches and the connecting wires can be removed from the element. Installation of the new element is the reverse. Michael C Tehachapi , CA February 23, 2024 I had a small fire inside my oven. Ended up being my heating element I ordered a new element which arrived in 2 days! I took out the 2 screws holding in the old element, removed the 2 wires that were connected with push clips and placed the new element in. The whole process including removal and installation took maybe 5 minutes. **Tip. To access the screws and wires more easily, remove the entire door from the oven. Most models will allow the door to simply slide off of the hinge without removing any hardware. This frees up space so you don't have to lean over the door to get to the back of the oven where the wires and screws are located. Read More...
