How to Troubleshoot & Replace Whirlpool AP6005964 / WP2180224 Refrigerator Ice Dispenser Guide

I followed the instructions on the video. Took 5 minutes. 

Bought a new one from Appliance Parts Pros. 

Ordered a new ice guide. Upon removing the existing ice guide it was discovered that the front tab of the guide snapped off and was missing. Easily replaced the guide - entire replacement took less than 5 minutes. 

I found and ordered the three parts from Appliance Parts Pros. The "how-to" videos were indispensable. I removed the faceplate, electrical connection(s), levers, and ice guide as per the video instructions. Getting the parts back in was more difficult than getting them out, but not really that difficult. Put it all back together and tested it. Worked right away. 

I replaced it with a new one. 

Ordered new part and inserted it with the help of the Appliance Parts Pros video. 

I ordered a new ice chute form Appliance Parts Pros. It came fast and I installed it. Easy and quick. 

Replaced the ice guide. It was very simple and did not require any tools to install. 

I have a double door Whirlpool that is 20 years old. Over the years I have replace virtually every part in the Ice Maker. These parts were the last ones to fail. If any additional fail I will replace the whole refrigerator. Thankfully I am still able to get parts online. I am an Appliance and Small motor repairman so it is easy for me. 

I ordered a new guide, followed a YouTube video and was able to replace the broken piece. Success
