How to Troubleshoot & Replace Whirlpool AP6011815 / WP8182574 Handle

The door must be removed - held on with only 3 screws which easily came out and the door then splits apart into an inner and outer panel - just a simple bit of prying with a thin screwdriver. The latch must be assembled with the supplied parts which, at least in my case, was possible only because the core of the old part was intact and provided a template that could be used. If I had thought about it I would have photographed the assembled part before it was reinstalled to help the next person - someone may wish to do this. 

Part were right on and replaced broken part.
