How to Troubleshoot & Replace Whirlpool AP6011872 / WP8183202 Washer Door Hinge

Less than 48 hrs after placing the order the part was installed 

Ordered part online and installed it myself. Part does not come with screws so it's important that you save the ones from the old hinge! I did not watch video prior to installing since it was pretty straightforward. I had to remove more screws to the entire door frame itself in order to get the hinge installed properly on the doorframe. 

Replacedparts 

I followed the instructions from the wonderful video--couldn't have been easier. (P.S.) I need a part for my dishwasher, but there is no video--I'm afraid to tackle it without knowing what I'm getting into. 

I ordered the part after referencing the correct part number on AppliancePartsPros. The site was helpful in identifying the correct part number and the order process was convenient. The video showing how to do the repair was also a nice feature of the site. Once the part arrived, the repair took only about 15 minutes. The only misstep was that I assumed the nuts would be phillips head, but they were hex nuts instead which needed a special bit. Luckily I had the right bit available that I could use with an adaptable screwdriver base. 

Bought a new hinge from Parts Pros, watched their video about how to replace it and followed those instructions. 

Replaced part 

Removed old hinge and installed the new one.
