How to Troubleshoot & Replace Whirlpool AP6011872 / WP8183202 Washer Door Hinge

Followed instructions on video. 

Easy repair took about 30 minutes. 

Replaced with same. Piece of cake. 

By following the YouTube video - easy peasy. 

I ordered the part and it took about a week to receive. On the video it shows you loosening the 8 screws around the hinge. I only needed the 4 screws next to the hinge. I found the next screws to be fixed and the broke off so be careful. Otherwise easy fix 

The appliance was leaking near the front of the washer. Spend a few days determining the root cause of the leak. Took off bottom panel look underneath, check inside lining, review door openings. It was determined the latch had broken in the bottom making it difficult to fully close. Bought a new hinge and followed by the video and mission complete. The only issue the bracket was not held by 20 Torx screws per the video but by small head screws. Pull out the 1/4 socket and replace each. We are set and no more leaks.

Removed door and replaced hinge. 

I'm telling you, this might've taken me an hour to figure out. But the video was right on the page where I ordered the hinge, saving me from having to figure little stuff out, like how many screws to loosen to separate the door and squeeze the old hinge out/new hinge in, qnd what tool to use. The guy in the vid took 3.5 minutes. I took about 7, but that's just because I'm a beginner! 

Looked up the model and ordered part...Received a hinge in a couple of days....Watched the "how to" video....Was an easy repair..
