How to Troubleshoot & Replace Whirlpool AP7185516 / W11577195 Icemaker

I replaced the ice maker 

Ordered a new Ice Maker Assembly Unit and installed it. Now we have ice again. 

I ended up getting all new water valves and an Icemaker. I just figured that it would be better to change out the whole deal. My water pressure was 55 lbs so it was going to be the water valves or the ice maker. That’s why I didn’t want to change one just to take it all apart again. I had already changed out the water filter. The job was not too difficult it was all completed in 1 1/2 hours. I did watch some Youtube to get an idea of how to do the job. 

Replaced ice maker, took about 10 minutes start to finish, watch tutorial so you don't break any tabs and makes the job pretty easy. 

Replaced it 

Replaced ice maker after running diagnostics. 

Have to replace the ice maker as the thermostat is built in the ice maker and cannot be removed. The replacement unit had a different wiring harness and I had to modify the new unit so it would plug and play. 

I replaced the ice making unit 

With the Water Inlet Valve, I ordered and installed in less than 30 minutes. Thank You 

I ordered and installed a new motor. It only plopped out a couple of ice cubes after installation, but after about 24 hours it started to work. One of the water tubes to the ice maker did freeze up at first, but after a while, it all started to work properly. I think it just needed to recycle itself. The water always dispensed so we knew it was not a water blockage.
