James B Eldersburg , MD May 02, 2021 Appliance: Whirlpool Refrigerator GSS26C5XXW02 Icemaker stopped working. The icemaker for this model Whirlpool refrigerator is an all-in-one integrated unit so it was simple to replace the old with the new. A total of 2 screws and 2 electrical connectors was all it took to make the replacement. Ten minutes tops. It did take a while (30-45 minutes) before the new unit began to make ice. Robert G The Villages , FL April 19, 2021 Appliance: Whirlpool Refrigerator GSF26C4EXY03 Whirlpool in door icemaker did not work. There were no videos on AppliancePartsPros.com showing how to fix this, only a video of an IN-FREEZER icemaker, which did not apply to my model at all. Whirlpool company was virtually worthless with no assistance, no videos or even useful schematics. I basically used common sense, and some trial and error in deciding which screws to remove and which to leave alone. I used a 1/4 inch nut driver to remove the two back screws holding the icemaker in place. The electrical connections were simple one way only, press/release. This is something the average homeowner can do himself and avoid a large repair bill. Randle C Poulsbo , WA May 23, 2020 Ice maker failed. Replaced it. None of the videos showed removal of the ice maker in the door. To remove cover take our ice holder, remove two screws in front, remove 4 screws in base over stirring arm, remove base and cover. Pull cover bottom out slightly, then lift straight up so tabs release from slots at top. Remove 2 screws on ice maker and power connectors. Reassembly is the reverse. Walter T Mathis , TX February 15, 2026 Appliance: Model KITCHENAID SIDE-BY-SIDE Leaking ice maker and little to no available ice I ordered the icemaker assembly from Appliance Parts Pros and installed it in less than 15 minutes. Everything I read said that it might take as long as 24 hours for the maker to make ice. Not in this case. It dumped its first full tray in about 30 minutes and has been going strong ever since. That's what I like about OEM parts--they work like they're supposed to. Thanks APP.com for having the part I needed. Read More... Susan B Hickory , NC November 29, 2025 Appliance: Whirlpool Refrigerator WSF26C2EXF01 Ice maker quit working Bought replacement part, after watching YouTube video by AppliancePartsPROs.com Thanks for helping us do an easy home repair and avoiding an expensive service call. The refrigerator is 12 years old, but you had the ice-maker assembly and the reference numbers for the older part matching the available replacement part. Cut power and had the old one removed, and new one installed in about 20 minutes, Video was a big help. New fridge will cost over $1,000, repaired this one for under $200. This one is making ice and doing great again! Read More... Do-It-Yourself Rating: Repair Time Estimate: 15-30 minutes Tools: Nut Drivers, Screwdrivers
