How to Troubleshoot & Replace Whirlpool AP6007826 / WP31940001 Oven Bake Igniter

We simply ordered the new part and it arrived in about 3 days. My son installed it in about 15 minutes and we were in business. We've replaced the oven bake igniter about every 3-4 years over the last 20 years. I feel it a privilege to pass the repair what you own ethos down to my son. I love AppliancePartsPros.com. You can find everything you need to repair your stuff on the website, including if the part is still produced or not. I was looking for an oven bottom but found that is out of production. 

I have a new stove ordered, probably on a ship offshore somewhere, but I realized that cooking a 22-pound turkey was going to be challenging, with varying temps, and forget baking holidays goodies. I watched a couple of youtubes and found ApplianceParts Pro. I diagnosed what I hoped was the part and ordered it. The first one came on November 18 and was broken. I was about to give up when I decided to call. I spoke to Kenny, who asked me to send pictures of my broken igniter and the packaging. I did and received an email Friday the 19, telling me a new igniter shipped. It arrived later Monday the 22nd and Tuesday we proceeded to take apart my old stove. We pretty much disassembled the entire stove and never found the harness to plug in the new piece. We rewired it to the old one and Thanksgiving was on!! Thank you!! 

Followed your helpful info on you-tube, purchased part suggested, part arrived quickly. This is a good stove purchased new. Because of my remote location, no part was available to repair or give help at any price. Also your tech (phone) support was CRITICAL in finding the correct replacement part. 

Replaced igniter, now works like a charm (range is 20 years old and this is second time I change igniter) 

Worked like a charm, wish I'd done this years ago. My wife said it wasn't getting as hot as it should and was screwing up her baking, but it always lit and seemed to work. This ignitor feeds back current to open the gas valve as the safety in case it fails no gas will flow. Apparently, they can weaken and the gas valve won't open all the way, causing heating consistency/accuracy issues. I confirmed w/thermometer it's accurate now. Ordered new part. Came very quickly and simple repair. Works great. 

Pull bottom drawer out. Take bottom pans out of oven. There are two screws under oven where drawer was removed for "heat shield" removal. Unhook wire to ignitor. Take three screws out of ignitor guard. Take old ignitor out. Reverse steps for installing back together. Oven works again without the "poof". 

Ordered an oven bake Igniter which was different than the oven igniter. The oven igniter did not work in my oven. Was delivered whit in two days. Right part in good condition. I had to remove the bottom drawer to get to electrical connection. Removed three screws in the oven for the igniter. Easy job to do. 

Replaced oven burner igniter. 

Ordered oven igniter. I was concerned about fragility of part and was assured it could be replaced if it didn't arrive intact. Pleased all went well. Accessibilty on the old appliance was probably the most trying issue. Part was attached.
