How to Troubleshoot & Replace Whirlpool AP3779117 / 8205572 Door Interlock Assembly (Microwave)

I replaced the two door switch interlocks and cam-plates which appeared to be worn. Before ordering the parts, I did a continuity check on the three door switches and determined that they were OK. While I was replacing the interlocks and cam-plates, I discovered that a piece on one of the cam-plates had broken off and was not making proper contact with the door switch when the door was closed. 

I REPLACED ALL THREE SWITCHES 

Replaced both interlock springs. Great service correct parts great diagrams of appliances. Fifteen minute fix. Been using this website for years. Highly recommended 

Checked continuity on both upper and lower door switches with door open and closed. Did not have continuity on upper door switch. Replaced upper door switch. 

Flipped the microwave breaker to off (the plug is hidden). Climbed up a footstool to see the screws in the top of the exhaust vent. Took off the exhaust vent (2 screws). Took off the control panel (1screw in top), secured it out of the way with some duct tape. Removed the lower catch and spring (1 screw). Removed the attached plug off the old part (a tiny bit tricky, and broke the old part in the process). Popped it on the new part (clips in very easily). Reinstalled it with the one screw. Put everything back together, works like new. 

Replace the two "interlok" pieces
